VoIP mobile solutions will be 'more popular' in future

VoIP mobile solutions will be 'more popular' in futureMobile Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is expected to increase in popularity in the next four years, according to an In-Stat report.

By 2013, there will be 287 million mobile VoIP users in the world who will generate revenues of $35.2 billion (£21.3 billion), research from In-Stat has shown.

According to Reportlinker.com, mobile VoIP will also drastically alter the landscape of communication for mobiles.

This is because mobile VoIP is now moving beyond being just a mechanism to bypass international calling charges but has developed into something more sophisticated.

Mobile operators WiMax and 3G have also started to try and harness mobile VoIP which is leading to technological developments.

The publication claims that despite the attempts of mobile operators to slow the development of online VoIP it is still spreading fast.

Mobile VoIP can be used as a business internet solution when employees are away from the office.

This is significant as, according to Egencia, next year there will be stronger demand from business travellers in London, Paris and Berlin.
