VoIP 'improves flexibility'

VoIP 'improves flexibility'Introducing VoIP technology can help companies to adopt a more flexible business model.

This is according to Ross Woodham, a solicitor and commercial specialist with law firm Shoosmiths, who suggests that VoIP offers both cost benefits and other, more subtle advantages.

Noting the relative simplicity of VoIP systems – "any organisation with a single computer can utilise VoIP through one of several online providers" - he claims that businesses looking to bring more flexibility to their daily operations should consider the technology.

"It avoids costs associated with long-distance and international calls over a traditional phone network, allowing for complete geographical flexibility," Mr Woodham explains.

He points out that this flexibility enables firms to conduct meetings and video conferencing at "a fraction of the cost".

Writing on TMCnet.com, IT expert Michelle Robart recently advised VoIP users to make sure they select a secure provider.
