'Save money' on business travel with VoIP
Companies could save money on business travel by using Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), according to Vendor Guru.
The publication has listed the top five reasons for firms to use VoIP when employees are travelling.
One key reason for using an internet telephony solution is to cut costs.
By using a VoIP router in hotel rooms, employees will save on the high fees associated with using a hotel phone.
For staff who have to go abroad, the cost of long distance calling will be minimalised.
The publication also suggested using Bluetooth handsets and soft phone applications.
Not only would this make calling much easier and cheaper, but users would also be able to turn their laptops into mini phone booths - adding to the convenience.
Business bosses will also be able to contact employees when they are on the go by tracking them with sophisticated systems that route calls to the nearest computer, phone or workstation.
Another bonus is that many smartphones are now adopting VoIP applications...making it much easier to make internet calls.
Earlier this week Samsung announced that it would be launching a tool to enable VoIP calls on its phones.
This comes after applications became available on the iPhone and the BlackBerry.
