Cloud computing 'helps with business productivity'
Adapting co-location platforms such as cloud computing can help businesses who are hoping to increase their productivity when emerging from the recession, it has been suggested.
Dave Aron, vice-president at analyst group Garter, told silicon.com that research shows cloud computing has moved up the rankings in terms of technological investment priorities.
He said that the medium is being adopted by many companies as a recession recovery tactic as cloud computing has now been proven to be a truly helpful platform and "not just marketing hype".
"Cloud computing really promises quite a lot of financial agility," he added.
In addition, the technology can offer greater operational leverage as less of the IT costs are fixed, Mr Aron went on to state.
Furthermore, Rob Lovell, chief executive of ThinkGrid, recently advised that cloud computing, as well as voice over internet protocol, can enable people to work productively from home in situations such as the recent cold snap.
