Virtualisation saves firms money, expert says
Businesses which adapt virtualisation into their operations could reap rewards of technologies which can provide positive results in today's challenging economic climate, an expert has suggested.
According to Martha Young, writing in her blog at ITWorld, firms can take advantage of the internet and reorganise business functions such as marketing, human resources, training and financial activities.
Through virtualisation, firms are also more flexible and are able to react quicker to changing business conditions, she argued.
A recent survey of business leaders by the Computing Technology Industry Association found that out of those who give their workers the option of telecommuting on a full-time or part-time basis, 67 per cent saw a rise in productivity and 59 per cent experienced a reduction in costs.
"By applying virtualisation in today's business environment against the business's bigger picture goals of moving toward an e-business model, the current environment will be rendered providential and opportunistic," Ms Young said.
