Business internet service protection is 'better in UK than US'
UK companies have more protection of their business internet services than those in the US, according to a new study.
Cigital and Fortify Systems authored the research, which compared the technology in different companies.
Gary McGraw, chief technology officer for Cigital, said: "Classification of data is much more mature in the European front."
He added that if companies worked together they would be able to create an "arms race for the common good" of data security - this could then help with disaster recovery.
According to Mr McGraw, security was not just about protecting broken equipment and services but also building more secure products for the future.
Research by Sophos Security has revealed that companies face cost hurdles when considering adopting security protocols.
Another consideration is that companies must also streamline their systems so that upgrades do not affect customer relations or services.
The study also showed that employees needed to be trained in order for companies to successfully adopt business internet solutions.
