8el and Black Box Network Services announce IP Centrex partnership

8el partner with Black Box

Reading, UK, 5th October 2009 - 8el, (www.8el.com) the voice and data communications provider, has announced that it is working with Black Box Network Services (www.blackbox.co.uk) to bring business VoIP to companies in the UK.

Black Box Network Services is one of the world's largest providers of voice communications, data infrastructure and networking products. The new partnership with 8el brings the CallPort business VoIP solution to its portfolio and provides an alternative to the standard site premise equipment on offer from Black Box today.

Says Brendan Tobin, Managing Director at Black Box, "Black Box are recognised as a world leader in networking services, with the voice market currently being developed further in the UK. We wanted to develop a partnership with an established voice provider to give our end users an alternative telephony offering to an IP PBX, which is where CallPort came in. After reviewing the various voice offerings available on the market, we decided that CallPort gave the most reliable and flexible solution. Our partnership with 8el means that we are now able to offer a fully managed service for voice and data. "

Says 8el Managing Director, Justin Hamilton-Martin, "This is an exciting partnership for Black Box and 8el. We were looking for a partner that has extensive coverage within the UK that needed to bridge the gap in offering an alternative solution to an IP PBX.

With both companies focused on providing strong technical ability alongside superior customer support, the opportunity to leverage the expertise within Black Box to communicate the benefits of CallPort is immense."

About CallPort

CallPort is a managed 'business grade' VoIP service for businesses ranging from SMEs to mid enterprise (typically 50-2000 users). Based on IP Centrex technology, the service gives users the flexibility and sophisticated functions possible through new IP technology, but with the reliability and quality of traditional phone services. 8el manages the service remotely, but users maintain control over service configuration. Free local and national calls, plus integration with mobile phones, are added benefits. CallPort can also run alongside existing PBXs, so there is no need to make the leap to complete VoIP overnight.
